Today, March 24, 2023 is the official release of "Sometimes Blues," the debut single for singer-songwriter Teresa Wright.
Growing up in Dothan, Alabama and attending University of Alabama in the '70s, Teresa became an integral part of the local music scene.
She was tapped by "The Voice" Vern Gosdin to back him as acoustic guitar player and high harmony singer for his "If You're Gonna Do Me Wrong, Do It Right" tour in 1983-84.
Entering the professional world as Information Systems Analyst for the City of Dothan, Teresa was a forerunner in the IT field, serving as part of an all woman team that transitioned the municipality systems in preparation for the Y2K Crisis.
Continuing to pursue music, Teresa began working on her songwriting and performing skills with professional mentor and collaborator, Amanda Colleen Williams ( 17 times multiplatinum awarded songwriter, "She's Tired of Boys" Garth Brooks), and scored several original songs in the national TV show "GearHeads."
Now, Teresa is releasing a collection of original and cover songs recorded acoustically in Nashville with Amanda, starting with the debut single "Sometimes Blues."
Teresa says, “Sometime Blues” is a song that came to me as heartfelt thoughts, in reflection on balance and authenticity. I was inspired by a folk jazz album, Joni Mitchell’s “Court and Spark. I listened as a kid and played it over and over, studying her acoustic guitar work. So, as an Alabama gal, I can honestly say, I write and love country music, pop, and yeah, "jazz, country, and sometimes blues."
