There are some songs that just sound like a guitar song.
It’s the kind of song that you hear in your head with solo guitar, and it still sounds as good as the full band recording.
A guitar song is so compelling that the song just doesn’t need all the hype.
A guitar song doesn’t need drums giving a back beat or the bits of melody from other instruments competing with those classic guitar fills.
A guitar song can be just a single acoustic guitar, carrying a tradition and message that resonates larger than any of these musical things.
It’s a guitar song!
It could be a guitar groove that conveys all of your heart and feeling and carries the listener away.
A guitar song carries its own weight.
A guitar song will be the one you hum the rest of the day after you hear it.
Everybody loves a guitar song!
Here is the first of my favorite guitar songs:
One of the first songs that I learned other than the original songs that I was writing, was one written and sung by singer-songwriter Neil Young.
It’s called “Heart of Gold” and still stands strong today as a song you may hear in a café or an acoustic venue.
Neil Young’s “Heart of Gold” is a guitar song through and through, and it’s very easy to play!
