East Tennessee Christmas

You walk into the kitchen, hear Grandma singing as she bakes

Christmas cookies of Santa, red and green layer cakes

Mixing with the scent of a fresh Frasier fir

We cut down on the highway by the River Road Spur

And it's an East Tennessee Christmas

The home fire's burning bright

On this East Tennessee Christmas

Feel the Joy in this Silent Night

The memories hold us from Christmases past

And love is our family tradition that lasts ... oh I'm missing

That East Tennessee Christmas

The kids are out sledding in the fresh fallen snow

And Uncle Herschel's just come back in from shooting down the mistletoe

He'll hang it in the doorway of the hallway by the den

To steal a kiss from Aunt Deanna when she comes walking in

Repeat Chorus

By the light in our hearts we find our way

Like the star led the wise men on that first Christmas day

Repeat Chorus
